In these issues we explore the less financial, more intangible sides of the crypto space. These applications are especially important as projects battle to make crypto relevant to everyday users, rather than those in the proverbial trenches. 

This issue specifically features contributions covering two major players in the onchain social space, as well as consumer applications and key infrastructure.

Lens 🌱

  • Lens is a purpose-built platform for social finance (SocialFi), including chain, protocol and storage. Since its Apr. 4 launch, users have bridged more than 1M GHO, the decentralized stablecoin, to Lens Chain. Lens protocol, a set of primitives designed for social applications, has been live since 2022. GHO, backed by deposits in Aave, is the gas token on Lens Chain — users can also use GHO to collect and tip on Lens.

  • GHO adoption on Lens Chain has surpassed adoption on Ethereum's mainnet by more than a multiple of six. Total GHO holders on Ethereum mainnet are 4.3k at time of writing, while on Lens Chain there's 27k holders. This strengthens the case for stablecoins' use as gas tokens, a trend which would further GHO's adoption.

  • There have been more than than 100k transacting addresses on Lens Chain's first weeks.

Farcaster 🟣

📈  Farcaster Passes 900k Users and 100k Funded Wallets in the Wake of Flagship Conference

  • Farcaster, a decentralized social media protocol, recently hit ~900k total users, and just crossed 100k funded wallets. The team is focused on increasing funded wallets, as they believe earning onchain dollars is the viral mechanism that will attract new experiences on the platform. To do so, Farcaster is now free to use moving forward, and the team is increasing USDC rewards, which are currently $25k/week. At FarCon, Coinbase also launched its new beta wallet, which is a Farcaster client that is expected to accelerate protocol and user adoption.

  • Farcaster is also pushing Mini Apps across its clients. One of the top apps is amps.fun, a marketplace for social engagement where users can pay and earn for distribution. Farcaster users have earned $28k+ via amps by just opting into the mini-app, amplifying casts by recasting or liking it.

  • Mini Apps are web apps integrated natively within Farcaster through embeds — they come with authenticated wallets, creating the possibility for viral distribution. At FarHack, the hackathon paired with Farcaster's flagship conference, submissions ranged from miniapps like AI or Not, Spoticast that shows what friends are listening to, a live trivia game, and a Zora coining app.

Rodeo ⚫

📈 Rodeo's Daily Creator Posts Triple After iOS app's Launch and Switch from ETH to USD for Rewards and Fees

  • On the Apr. 18, the social application Rodeo switched from ETH to USD for rewards and fees. Since the transition, daily post volume has surged threefold — climbing from a low of around 800 posts per day to over 2,400 daily posts at peak, with the trend still accelerating. Rodeo also crossed the 6M total mints since launch — the average post was minted +18 times.

  • The amount of creators has soared as well with +1.7k newcomers joining in the past week compared to a low of 1.1k. Equally noteworthy is the strong retention of weekly creator cohorts, which continues to maintain double-digit percentages even several weeks after their initial activity.

  • A rising creator-minter ratio suggests the switch USD was effective in onboarding new creators. Also since the switch there are consistently +10% daily new users with a spike of 50% the day of the announced USD-for-ETH change. The previous spike on the Mar. 21 coincided with the launch of the iOS app.

Safe 🔮

📈 Safe is Increasingly Becoming a Key Part of Consumer Apps

  • Safes are the most widely adopted smart accounts across Ethereum and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains — they securing nearly $53B in assets and powering consumer apps like Brahma and Worldchain. In April 2025 alone, Safes accounted for 73% of all smart account transactions and captured 54% of total market share. Since 2024, they've processed over $630B in transaction volume — including $31B in April and $300B in stablecoin transfers alone.

  • Despite weekly fluctuations, Safes on Ethereum saw gas usage jump recently by +74% from April 14 to 21. This spike points to more complex and higher-value interactions — showing users are engaging more deeply and pushing Safe’s utility with heavier onchain operations.

  • Safe is a major driver of network activity on World Chain, accounting for at least 87% of all active wallets. Safe's account abstraction toolkit has been instrumental in creating over 3.3M Safes and executing more than 41M UserOps transactions to date.

Dripster 🫠

📈 As Launchpads Evolve, Dripster Brings Crypto Mechanics to the Manufacturing and Fashion World, with Tokens to Physical Products

  • Dripster is a token launchpad built on Solana that reimagines how products are designed, funded, and brought to life. Dripster enables users to mint dripcoins, tokens tied to a user-generated product design. To date, there have been 196 dripcoins launched. When a dripcoin's market cap hits key milestones, holders can claim the limited-edition physical products that Dripster’s network of manufacturers produce. This model completely flips the current supply chain process on its head.
